Spinal Conditions We Treat
Mr Dherijha specialises in the diagnosis and surgical management of a wide range of complex spinal disorders. Each patient receives a thorough assessment and a personalised treatment plan — with surgery recommended only when it is genuinely the best option.
A Comprehensive Approach to Spinal Care
The spine is a complex structure, and symptoms such as back pain, leg pain, or weakness can arise from many different causes. Mr Dherijha's expertise spans the full breadth of spinal pathology — from common degenerative conditions to rare tumours and complex deformities — ensuring that whatever your diagnosis, you are in experienced hands.

Surgical Approaches
How We Operate
The choice of surgical approach depends on the condition, the level of the spine affected, and the individual patient. Mr Dherijha is trained in the full range of modern spinal surgical techniques.
Endoscopic Spine Surgery
Fully endoscopic procedures performed through a 7–8mm incision. Suitable for disc herniations and stenosis. Day-case or overnight stay.
Microdiscectomy
Microsurgical removal of a herniated disc fragment under high magnification. Gold-standard treatment for sciatica with excellent long-term outcomes.
Spinal Fusion
Permanent stabilisation of one or more spinal segments using bone graft and instrumentation. Performed via anterior, posterior, or combined approaches.
Disc Replacement
Artificial disc implantation to preserve motion at the treated level. An alternative to fusion for selected cervical and lumbar conditions.
Decompressive Surgery
Laminectomy, laminotomy, or foraminotomy to relieve pressure on the spinal cord or nerve roots. Often combined with fusion where instability is present.
Complex Reconstruction
Multi-level instrumented fusion, osteotomy, and deformity correction for scoliosis, kyphosis, and post-traumatic deformity.
Not Sure Which Condition Applies to You?
Many patients come to Mr Dherijha without a firm diagnosis. A consultation will include a thorough clinical assessment and review of any existing imaging to establish exactly what is causing your symptoms.
